Job Summary

Title : Material, Tooling Quotes Engineer

Effectively utilizes Jabil's approved supply base to develop competitive custom mechanical material cost solutions. This includes preparing and distributing concise supplier quotation requests and negotiating with specific commodity suppliers to generate competitive pricing recommendations. The individual will need to be have experience in hard stamping metal tools design, build and manufacturing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Fully involved in a weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the team.

- Ability to lead and execute tooling execution programs with practical knowledge in tool builds Experienced in tool costing and tool manufacturing methods for hard stamping is essential.

- Organizes verbal and written ideas clearly and uses an appropriate business style

- Ensures the efficient and timely exchange of information to ensure best practices a re shared throughout the Jabil organization

- Supports all custom mechanical quoting activities for both tool builds and mechanical piece parts.

- Attends quote kick-off meetings for all assigned quote projects

- Identifies information required to obtain accurate quotes from the supply base and ensures its availability for quoting and proposal preparation

- Prepares supplier Request For Quote (RFQ) packages and solicits quotes from the identified supply base

- Analyzes supplier quote responses and recommends appropriate pricing solutions to quote Project Manager through development of a costed BOM template

- Evaluates existing/potential supply sources with Divisional Commodity Manager and Program manager to assist in developing a supply chain strategy appropriate for each quote project

- Provides feedback regarding supplier performance in providing competitive quotes and related information for tool builds and quotes.

- Negotiates competitive pricing, lead-times, terms and conditions with supply base to support quote project objectives

- Reviews quotes with Regional Commodity Managers and Material Regional Quotation Manager as required to ensure that pricing recommendations are consistent with the quote proposal objectives

- Develops and maintains tooling and quote records for existing and new quotes relationships with approved supply base.

- Provides feedback to (and receives input from) Accounts/BUC, Manager CUI JIN and Team. Commodity Managers about potential new suppliers to be included in quoting activities

- Performs other special projects for Material Quotations Manager as necessary

- Exercises a good working knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and s ources of supply associated with specific commodities.

Education & Experience Requireme nts

- Bachelor's degree in Tooling or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

- Experienced Tooling Engineer

- Understand quote process and comparison methods.

- Additional trade certification for design and build of tools.
